NEX Link Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 3, 2026
Last Updated: August 3, 2026

Thank you for using NEX Link (the “App”). NEX Link is a companion app for NEX Player that lets you share videos selected on your iPhone or iPad with NEX Player over your local network.

This Privacy Policy explains how NEX XR Team (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use NEX Link. This Policy applies specifically to NEX Link. Other NEX products and the NEX website may be covered by the NEX Privacy Policy.

1. Information Processed on Your Device

NEX Link processes limited information on your device to provide its core features.

1.1 Videos, Files, and Folders You Select

NEX Link accesses only the videos, files, or folders that you choose through Apple’s system pickers.

Depending on how you add content:

  • A video selected from Photos is copied into the App’s local storage so it can be shared.

  • A file or folder selected from Files remains in its original location. NEX Link stores a local system authorization reference so it can access that item again when permitted by iOS.

NEX Link may read file names, folder structure, file sizes, file types, and file timestamps to build the video library shown to NEX Player.

This information is processed locally on your device. The current version of NEX Link does not send your selected media or media-library information to servers operated by NEX XR Team.

1.2 Local Network and Device Information

To make your device discoverable to NEX Player, NEX Link may use:

  • Your device name, which is shown on the local network as part of the NEX Link server name.

  • Your device’s local IP address and network interface information.

  • A randomly generated local device identifier used to identify the NEX Link service on your network.

  • Local network requests from devices attempting to discover or connect to NEX Link.

This information is used to operate the local sharing service and is not sent to NEX XR Team.

2. Information We Collect

The current version of NEX Link does not collect data from the App and does not transmit personal data to NEX XR Team or third-party analytics providers.

In particular, the current version does not include:

  • User accounts or sign-in.

  • Advertising SDKs.

  • Analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs.

  • Cross-app or cross-website tracking.

  • Use of Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA).

  • Cloud storage operated by NEX XR Team for your selected videos.

If you voluntarily contact us for support, we may receive the information you choose to include in your email or support request. We use that information only to respond to your request and provide support.

3. Local Network Sharing

When you tap Start Sharing, NEX Link starts a media service on your local network. While sharing is active:

  • NEX Player and other devices on the same reachable local network may be able to discover the NEX Link service.

  • Devices that connect to the service may receive the device name, selected media names, folder structure, file sizes, timestamps, and the media data needed for playback.

  • Media is transferred directly over the local network rather than through servers operated by NEX XR Team.

Local sharing stops when you stop sharing or when iOS suspends the App. Local-network media streaming may use unencrypted local protocols. Use NEX Link only on networks you trust, and stop sharing when it is no longer needed.

4. Permissions and System Access

NEX Link may request or use the following system access:

4.1 Photos

The Photos picker lets you select specific videos without granting NEX Link access to your entire photo library. Selected videos are copied to the App’s local storage.

4.2 Files and Folders

The Files picker lets you select specific files or folders. NEX Link stores the system authorization information required to restore access where iOS permits it. NEX Link does not modify or delete the original files or folders when you remove them from the App.

4.3 Local Network

Local network access is required so that NEX Player can discover NEX Link, browse the selected library, and stream media from your device.

5. Local Storage, Retention, and Deletion

NEX Link stores the following information locally on your device:

  • Your list of selected media sources.

  • File and folder authorization references.

  • Media names, sizes, timestamps, availability, and directory structure.

  • Copies of videos imported from Photos.

  • A randomly generated identifier for the local NEX Link service.

This information remains on your device until you remove the relevant item or uninstall the App.

Removing a Photos-imported video from NEX Link deletes the App-managed local copy.

Removing a file or folder from NEX Link deletes the stored reference and library entry but does not delete the original item.

Uninstalling NEX Link removes the App’s locally stored data according to iOS behavior.

Because the current version does not maintain user accounts or server-side personal data, no account-deletion request is required to erase App data stored by NEX XR Team.

6. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell personal information and do not share App data with advertisers or analytics providers.

When local sharing is active, information and media described in Section 3 are shared directly with devices that connect to NEX Link on the local network. This local transfer is initiated and controlled by you and is necessary to provide the App’s core functionality.

7. Children’s Privacy

NEX Link is not directed to children under 13, and the current version does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data Security

We design NEX Link to keep its media library and settings on your device and to limit sharing to a user-initiated local-network session. However, no method of electronic storage or local-network transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for using trusted networks and controlling when sharing is active.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to NEX Link, legal requirements, or our data practices. We will update the “Last Updated” date when changes are published. If a change materially affects how the App handles information, we will provide notice through an appropriate channel.
